Resources Careers benchmark position descriptions and career ladders have been established to describe the normal GS-11 full performance level for most non-supervisory resources management positions in the NPS. Some resources management positions may appropriately be graded higher, however. But since Servicewide position reviews were not done for higher-graded positions, the use of standardized position descriptions must be determined within the context of each NPS unit individually.

Non-supervisory GS-12 position descriptions have been developed for optional use where appropriate.
